Course content: 14 x 60 minutes
In the beginners course we learn the different basic steps of the Cuban salsa style casino and the base of the variant Rueda de Casino. The concept is all about being spontaneous and dancing dynamically by always keeping the basic step but being able to spice it up with different figures. Focus is on the specific rhythm and body movements of the Cuban salsa. Together we practice simpler figures that you can use on the dance floor!
The movement patterns of the Cuban salsa are based on the partners moving around each other in a ”cuadrado” (square), and from its different positions performing various figures such as the ”abajo”, ”marcar casino” and ”enchufla”. In addition, we go through the basics of rueda de casino with figures such as ”dile que no”, ”dame”, ”arriba tiempo España”, ”pa´tras”, ” una con una” and ”tarro”.
